The Romanian man Sorin Paun has many (for example) musical projects. One of them is Sunmoon, which, in the artist's own words, is "focused on the sonic exploration of deep space". The track itself is something between lo-fi dark ambient and noisy drone. The overall sound could be described as dry, harsh, and desolate.

The back of the soundscape consists of low, monotonous and humming fast drone which doesn't really evolve at all during the twenty minutes. On top of it there's some occasional dry and pretty loud humming sound that seems to go in loops. The one thing that really changes in the track during it's lenght are the various, noisy, and also dry signal-like sounds. Up to the halfway of the track they don't really take attention to themselves, they just pretty much enchance the humming sound and add some variation to it. After the halfway the background-sounds become higher, occasionally they even become the main sounds along with the humming. At this point the track becomes even quite intense at times, as there's a lot going on, and the sounds create a varying and thick soundscape - despite their thin nature.

All the used sounds share the same hoarse and dry qualities, which makes the soundscape sound like a whole, but it also means that the soundscape is pretty bare. The looping humming sound is the most distracting element in the song, as it seems to be there just to fill the soundscape but serves no other purpose, and it being a loop makes the sound even annoying in the long run. If it wasn't a loop it might be a lot more effective, and also more fitting to the other elements - and it would not eat the listening value of the release as much as it does now.

I was on my way to space, but I didn't get there. A good effort, but too flawed and incomplete.
