This record from the anti-terrorist grind-freaks from japan dissapointed me. Although the production is the way I enjoy it, which means that it sounds like a rehearseal tape, the songs are way too standard grind. They sound like they just went and wrote something down, with no imagination. The lyrics are Engrish in its fullest. They make sense and what they are trying to say is understandable but they aren't too nice to read. Their sleeve desgins are also basic b/w cover artwork. All in all, although listenable, Unholy Grave's side ends up being unimaginative, made just for the sake of having another 7 inch split. Black Sister's first song is enjoyable trash/death/whatever but way too short. When you start to get in to it, it's already over. The production is way better than on the Unholy Grave's side. The second track they have is a cover of some Anti-Cimex song, which one, I don't know because the title and lyrics are in gaelic. That is cool in itself but the track just goes past your ears and you remember pretty much nothing of it. The cover artwork of Black Sister is also lacking in imagination. Their lyrics are pretty good, at least on The Hunt. You don't see lyrics about sailing. I must admit that the lyrics are probably the most imaginative part of the whole release. Bottom-line: This is just another split seven in the sea of split sevens. I would recommend this only to hardcore fans of either band. I am sure both have done way better job on their other releases. |
