To me, Nausea is one of the best crust bands that have excisted. This is a vinyl edition of a bootleg cassette, recorded at Nausea show, in Poland. First I have to talk about the packagin of this release. This is something I would never expect a bootleg release to have. All the covers are professionally printed. Also, there is a flyer for the show, a booklet with lyrics and pics from the show and a zine with 6 interviews. I payed 11 euros for this and didn't expect such contents, or such quality. I have seen labels releasing vinyls of worse quality. To those who know their Nausea, there isn't anything too surprising. There aren't any new songs, expect two Discharge covers. The production is good for a bootleg recording. Drums do push guitars and vocals into background and the bass is pretty non-existant but for this kind of record, it is not too big of a deal. I like the fact they kept all the speeches between the songs. It gives a live feel to the record. When bands release a live album and cut the speeches, it leaves me feeling like I am just listenin to another "best of" comp. I wouldn't recommend this for those new to Nausea, but definitely to people who know their Nausea already. The packagin is superb, the music contained is superb. There are some production problems but as this is a bootleg recording, it is understandable. |
