The Fridgerators were active on middle 90's and they released their first one-sided 7" EP in 1995 which contains three songs. They also released two CD-Rs in '95 and '99. The Fridgerators play something like noise rock or almost noise punk, machinedrums bring nice solidness to the sloppy punk-vocals and rolling guitar riffs. They also have nice samples on the back which contain some speaking, war noises and some strange buzz.

They don't have bass player at all so the sound is bit thin. There are two guitarists though, the other plays just plain rock riffs and the other plays not so special solos all the time, which fits well to this noise rock style. The last song isn't so much of the same genre, it's just rock with some punk attitude. It doesn't sound bad at all, a bit worn out though, this last song sounds like it stops before it should, maybe time ran out? You can hear the 90's in the sound of this record, the band tried something different at the time in finnish punk scene and it worked well i think, shame that they didn't do more releases.

One-sided EP works well on this release, although this isn't so hard listening so a full EP would've been fine too. I like this kind of short releases: you just have to play these again and again and even then these don't wear out!

Cover art is pretty nice, on the front is this black and green version of Dance of death painting ang the text "the ballet" looking nice, a bit pixelated though but it fits well to the music. On the back is this very cool photo of a frogman or somekind of a navy seal with a huge chainsaw in the middle of swamp, just have to love this picture. There is also the names of the songs. Label on the record says "The Ballet (Total Mindfuck)" and the other side where there is no music is the number of the copy. The pressing was 400 copies.

Overall this is a very good noise rock record, I can't find much negative about this release. If you like noise rock/punk try to find this EP, though it will be hard.
