This is my last review for a while. I won't be writing reviews here for an undisclosed time. I might return, or I won't. Only time shows.
The album itself is very good. The production is good. Drums are a bit loud, the guitar bit thin and bass unaudible but Respect and Hate never sounds like it lacks any frequencies. The vocalist screams like his head is being chopped of and there is parts with clean gang chants. The music isn't consant blasting and is very varied for a punk album. There is also interlude where they play some Sex Pistols riffs. From what Sex Pistols song, it escapes my mind. There is some interludes which are mostly sounds of streets and offices with vocals that are effected. As I don't understand japanese, I cannot understand them.
The cover artwork is good. A picture of a man dropping a mask drawn in brown ink onto silver background. With the album comes huge booklet with the lyrics in japanese and engrish and explanations for lyrics in japanese and english. The booklet is graphically huge cut and paste collage. The only downside is that the font is a bit too small but with as much text they have on the booklet, larger font would probably require even more space.
If you are looking for japanese punk, I recommend checking Vivisick out.
