The evening was started by a boozing at pre-party from where we ended up with our group to watch Exodus warm-up band Bloodride. Even though Bloodride isnít a too well known thrash metal band from Finland it was surprising how much there were people at Nosturi when they started. I have seen Bloodride a couple of times earlier and this was maybe their best gig. I have to give credit to the singer as this time he seemed rather sober (or should I say not that drunk?) and he could stay up.
After Bloodride we were waiting for Exodus gig to be started. At this point more crowd had found their way to Nosturi and they demanded Exodus to step up to the stage. After a moment of waiting the intro of The Ballad of Leonard and Charles started while the stage curtains were still closed. The curtains opened and an aggressive set was about to begin. After The Ballad of Leonard and Charles came Children of a Worthless God which is one of my favorite songs from them. The crowd was very active which is in my opinion rather rare in here Finland. The pit was big and people were stage diving and shouting the lyrics. Also Exodus seemed to enjoy the good audience and they were interactive with the people.
This was my first Exodus-experience and hopefully they'll come back here soon because I will definitely be there again. The setlist was well balanced between the older and the newer material and there were heard such gems as Piranha, The Toxic Waltz, A Lesson In Violence, Deathamphetamine and War Is My Shepherd.
